Threadloop is a web-based application specifically built for sewists. It allows users to organize their fabric stash, catalog sewing patterns, plan and document projects, and engage with a community of fellow sewists—all on a single platform.

Yes, the core features of Threadloop are completely free. You can add unlimited fabrics, patterns, and projects to your stash. Payment is only required for the optional Plus subscription, which offers advanced organization features and enhanced stats for supporters of the platform.

Nope—there’s no app to install. Threadloop is entirely browser-based. However, you can enhance your access by adding it to your mobile phone’s home screen or desktop for an app-like experience.

The platform originally launched as “Backstitch,” but was renamed to Threadloop due to a trademark conflict with an existing HR software company. While the name changed, the team and vision stayed the same.

Yes—Threadloop fosters a vibrant community where members share projects, ask for advice, and review patterns. It's been likened to Ravelry—though with a distinct focus on sewing rather than knitting—and benefits from a clean, ad-free interface.
